It all started when…

The Company was started by Michael Joseph Gallagher, who emigrated to the United Kingdom from County Mayo, Ireland in 1972 at the age of 17. Over the following 20 years Michael worked all over the UK for various well known Contractors gaining new skills and learning the industry. In the early 1990's, he decided to pursue opportunities on a sub-contracting basis, initially on a very small scale and over the last 20 years this has grown into the Company that exists today. With the benefit of his experience and expertise, MJG has been able to undertake works on a multitude of schemes and deliver them to an excellent standard prioritising workmanship, the safety of our workforce, client programme and of course cost.

In 2010 Michael's daughter; Mairetta joined the Company, following her successful completion of a LLB Law Degree at University in Liverpool. She expressed a keen interest in construction law and project management. Over the last 5 years Mairetta has managed several of our projects, dealing with everything from costing to resourcing. She now holds over 5 years of experience within the industry and during that time has completed her SMSTS, NRSWA and more recently embarking upon a NEBOSH qualification.

By working with MJG you not only get a business partner who understands the industry from a commercial viability view point, but also from a practical one. It is not a coincidence that since we have been sub-contracting, we have not reported any accidents nor been subject to any HSE notices. We hold Safe Contractor and work with the CITB to ensure our workforce hold the right qualifications to carry out the works safely.
