£1 Million Improvements to A45 Slip Road - B573

Due to recurring flooding and land slippage of the embankment along the A45 Slip to Great Doddington, the Highways Agency wanted us to construct an embankment / retaining wall using tyre bales as an alternative to concrete and brick. This proposed a huge cost saving to the client and was a more economical and environmentally conscious use of material.

Over the course of just 8 weeks, working 3 shift patterns covering 20 hours of the day, we completed this project. With completion we achieved improved drainage and slope stabilisation for local residents and road users in the future.
